The only sandals I packed for summer and I never regretted it.
I’ve worn a lot of outdoor sandals over the years, but the Lems Switchback has become my favorite by a mile.
What impressed me most is how they combine the freedom of a minimalist sandal with enough cushioning to stay comfortable all day. I can hike forest trails, launch my kayak, wander through small coastal towns, and then head straight to dinner without ever thinking about changing shoes.
The wide toe box is a game changer. My feet finally have room to spread naturally instead of being squeezed into an unnatural shape. The one-pull adjustment system looked gimmicky at first, but it’s brilliant… fast, secure, and it stays put, even on uneven trails.
One unexpected bonus - it fits my prosthetic foot perfectly. With most sandals, I have to add Velcro straps or make other modifications to keep my prosthetic securely in place. With these, I didn’t have to change a thing. They fit securely right out of the box, and that’s been a huge win for me.
I expected a break-in period, but there wasn’t one. They were comfortable from the very first mile and have stayed that way through countless walks, beach days, campground adventures, and travel.
As someone who spends a lot of time outdoors, I appreciate gear that simply disappears while I’m using it. That’s exactly what these sandals do. They’re lightweight, grippy, dry quickly, and are so comfortable that I often forget I’m wearing them.

Excellent for hiking and biking
This is a great sandal for the summer: light and still offering a stable stand with the relative broad size of the soles. My feet are broad , „skinny“ with a low instep and highly sensitive, but still get a good hold thanks to the strap construction which can be perfectly adapted to my feet. The straps between the toes are very soft and don’t cause any pain to me while walking. The soles have a very good grip to various surfaces, while their upper sides offer the perfect slightly spongy softness to my feet, especially concerning the front soles of my feet, where I easily get pain after a while of walking in other barefoot brand shoes. These are just right for sensitive feet, and they still look stylish to me. Thank you, Lemsshoes👍🏽

Switchback sandles
The Switchback Sandles were comfortable from the minute I put them on. I can wear them all day without my feet being tired; great support! I love the easy on and off strap. No fumbling for a loose strap and NO VELGRO to scratch your ankle!
I would highly recommend these sandles to anyone who wants sandles you can put on and forget because your feet are comfortable all day.
